Donate to the Judy Tyree Obaugh Scholarship Fund
Making a difference in the lives of future cosmetologists.

For decades, Judy Tyree Obaugh served her community with warmth, creativity, and professionalism as a skilled hairdresser. She trained under Boyd and Judy Thompson, founders of the Staunton School of Cosmetology, and spent her career helping others feel confident and cared for. Her legacy lives on through this scholarship, established by her husband, Dean Obaugh, in her honor.
The Judy Tyree Obaugh Scholarship supports students from Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County who are enrolled in the Staunton School of Cosmetology and demonstrate financial need to complete their training. By removing financial barriers, this scholarship helps aspiring cosmetologists carry forward Judy’s legacy of service and style.
In the event that the Staunton School of Cosmetology is no longer operating, support from the fund will be directed to students in the Cosmetology & Esthetics Program at Blue Ridge Community College, continuing to prioritize students with financial need from the same tri-city region.
Judy’s long-standing dedication to her craft and her clients continues to make a difference in the lives of future cosmetologists.
