Your Community Foundation established the COVID-19 Local Response Fund on March 16 with an initial charitable contribution of $100,000 and our pledge to contribute our fee for the administration of this fund. As a result, 100% of every contribution benefits local residents.
Since that time, our community’s desire to help has been nothing short of inspiring. As of December 23rd, over $1.6 Million had been contributed towards our relief efforts.
Guiding the distribution of resources is a partnership consisting of the Community Foundation, United Way, Augusta Health, CAPSAW, officials from Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County, Shenandoah Valley Social Services, business leaders, and others. With their assistance we have already distributed over $1.2 Million in GRANTS to meet the most urgent needs of our neighbors.
